UPDATE BELOW! Quest Fitness-"Healthy Hearts for Healthy Kids" fundraiser benefitting the West Side New Beginnings Community Center, February 26th-27th, 2010.

Ideal Nutrition and Fitness is excited to be part of this wonderful event for a great local cause.

Quest Fitness will be open 24-hours straight to raise funds ($2,400 or more in 24 hours) to purchase much-needed sports equipment for the West Side New Beginnings Community Center.

Event begins at 4 PM on Friday, February 26th and ends at 4 PM on Saturday, February 27th. Fun, food, hourly activities for all ages and give-aways as well as entertainment will be enjoyed by all. Teams may register for the event at Quest Fitness. Teams may be comprised of two or more participants and are required to raise $100 and work-out for one hour.

Non-members welcome as well for a special "drop-in fee" of a donation of $5 or more (regular drop-in fee is $10).

Offer valid through Sunday at 3 PM. Sponsors and products and services for the hourly give-aways welcome from local businesses - contact Quest to see how your business can be part of this great event. 302-644-7020. www.questfitnesskayak.com.

UPDATE! We surpassed out goal of $2,400 in 24 hours by several hundred dollars!  Thanks to Quest members, our friends in the community, and the families and staff from the West Side New Beginnings Community Center for making the event such a smashing success!

Flex World Fitness Memorial 5K Run/1.6mi Walk in honor of fallen police officer, Chad Spicer, October 3rd.

Registration opens at 8 AM, race starts at 9 AM.  All proceeds to benefit the Chad Spicer Family.

And stay for the FlexWorld Health Fair from 10 AM until 2 PM! Food, fun, prizes! Ideal Nutrition and Fitness LLC will be there offering healthy treats as well as raffling an Ideal Nutrition and Fitness LLC baseball cap and nutritional service package!  You don't want to miss this!

Ideal Nutrition and Fitness LLC, Quest Fitness and Kayak, and Good For You Natural Market team up to help local business owner Bryan Hecksher of Auto Gallery of Delaware lose weight and get healthy!

Project Big Guy (PBG), a weight-loss program for a motivated individual kicks of October 1st, and will run until Jan 1st. Lisa Harkins, RD, LDN owner of Ideal Nutrition and Fitness LLC, will create a nutrition plan and ongoing counseling to Bryan Hecksher, owner of Auto Gallery of Delaware; Matt Carter, owner of Quest Fitness and Kayak will personal train Bryan; and Andy Meddick, owner of Good For You Natural Market will assist him with organic and natural food selections.

Bryan's goal is to lose weight and keep it off in a slow, steady and sustainable manner.  The PBG team experts and Bryan are shooting for about 70 lbs by the end of the three months, but improving quality of life and a sense of well-being, as well as reducing Bryan's risk of critical disease is even more important.

"Eat Smart for a Healthy Heart" - a nutrition education and cooking program taught in a three-part series by Lisa Harkins, RD, LDN, and Kathleen Splane, MS.

When: October 1st, 8th, and 15th, 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM.

Where: UD Cooperative Extension Kent Campus, Paradee Center, 69 Transportation Circle, Dover, DE.

If you or a loved one have suffered from a heart attack, stroke, or high blood pressure, this class is a must. You'll learn how to keep you and your family's heart healthy, along with a fabulous cooking demonstration with tasting at the end of each session. Recipes and lots of other goodies included.

DogFish Dash 5K and 10K Road Race

Sunday, September 27, 2009, 8 AM.The Dogfish Dash is a slightly off-centered 5K & 10K road race that starts and finishes at the Dogfish Head Craft Brewery (# 6 Cannery Village Center, Milton, DE 19968) and benefits the Delaware Chapter of The Nature Conservancy. Aside from a great race, they'll have food, entertainment, brewery tours, lots of fun, and Dogfish Head beer.
